Joy Scales, Director of Administration, learned the importance of giving back to the community at an early age. Prior to joining leap, she provided support and a safe environment for victims of domestic abuse at the Jenesse Center for the better part of a decade.

In 2004, while studying Child Development at West Los Angeles College, Joy’s passion for making a difference led her to leap. Since then, she has overseen leap's programming at many different schools and helped create leap's current model of success.

In 2008, Joy became Director of Administration, overseeing a large number of responsibilities at leap's operations office.

As the daughter of a single parent and as a single parent herself, Joy lives by the motto that giving up is not an option. She strives to instill that motto into the lives of youth everyday.
